Karen Lancel, Hermen Maat

Artists and researchers Karen Lancel and Hermen Maat (Lancel/Maat, based in Amsterdam) work in the fields of media art, science, technology, and society.

Their interdisciplinary performances, video works, and installations have been internationally presented in Europe, Asia, and the USA (Biennale di Venezia; Ars Electronica Festival Linz; ZKM Karlsruhe; National Museum of China; Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; Millenium Museum Beijing; ISEA 2019 Gwangzou; Eyebeam New York; Beall Center L.A.) Their prize-winning works were awarded numerous grants and generous support (find here), artist-in-residencies, fellowships, and public commissions (EMAP European Program, TASML Tsinghua University Beijing, Banff Center Canada) (find here).

Dr. Lancel received her artistic and scientific research Ph.D. at the University of Technology Delft participatory complex systems lab (find here) .
