Begoo Collective بگو
The collective’s logo design of the word Begoo* in black is repeated three times, each paired with one word from the “Woman Life Freedom” slogan against a solid saturated orange background. The words Woman, Life, and Freedom, stylized and incorporated into the design of the logo, are meant to resemble long hair in the wind as well as flame tongues –a reference to Iranian women setting their scarves on fire. The text reads: بگو زن بگو زندگی بگو آزادی Begoo Zan, Begoo Zendegi, Begoo Azadi Translation: Say Woman, Say Life, Say Freedom *Begoo means “Speak Up” or “Say it”, often used in the protest chants in Iran in conjunction with the chant “freedom freedom freedom”.

The stylization of the words Woman, Life, and Freedom, are meant to resemble both long hair blowing in the wind and flame tongues –a reference to Iranian women setting their scarves on fire, symbolizing both the liberation of hair and freedom of the body. The logo is translated into English as “Say Woman, Say Life, Say Freedom,” which is often used in protest chants in Iran.

Begoo – بگو

A collective of Iranian feminists inside Iran and in the diaspora, Begoo Collective is committed to fostering a transnational dialogue among the marginalized communities, with a specific focus on the Global South. Centering JIN JÎYAN AZADÎ (Woman, Life, Freedom) and resisting systemic historical erasure of Womxn, the queer communities, and all other marginalized groups in Iran and beyond, Begoo engages in raising collective consciousness and generating genuine solidarity.

Begoo Collective’s feminist praxis manifests through radical archival practices, event organization, crafting manifestos, joining rallies, and creating connections with the broader network of transnational and anti-colonial feminists. The core of our collective’s identity are care, community, and solidarity. Begoo Collective believes that our struggles for justice and liberation are tangled: “No one is free until we are all free.”

Eyebeam models a new approach to artist-led creation for the public good; we are a non-profit that provides significant professional support and money to exceptional artists for the realization of important ideas that wouldn’t exist otherwise. Nobody else is doing this.
