Fall 2026: Virtual Residency

The Virtual Residency (Fall/Winter) is intended to support US-based artists working outside of New York City with the time, space, community, and structure to develop new work around the theme of AGENCY. It is well-suited to projects in the early stages of development where the opportunity to take part in shared research, discussion groups, and get feedback on nascent ideas would help advance concept development and prototyping.

Six US-based artists will be selected for the 12-week virtual residency program that will include:

• $2,000 stipend
• Weekly residency programming to support project development
• Mentorship with Eyebeam alumni and visiting professionals
• Technical consultation
• A fertile context for critical thinking and making

Residents will be required to commit a minimum of 3-4 hours per week to the residency, including weekly cohort sessions plus their own independent time developing the project.

Selected residents will participate in the following activities:

• Weekly Cohort Sessions: Take part in weekly cohort sessions
• Project Development: Continue independent development of projects over the course of the 12 week residency period
• Work-in-Progress: Share WIP with peers and guest critics and engage in peer-to-peer mentorship with fellow residents
• Process Presentation: Share research and process at a virtual event at the residency’s conclusion
• Publication Contribution: Develop text, imagery, or other material to contribute to an end-of-year publication

• Applicants must be based in the United States, outside of New York City, and remain US-based for the full residency term.
• Applicants must apply as individuals; collectives and collaborative teams are not eligible for this cycle.
• Applicants may not be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program.
• Applicants may not be participating in or committed to another residency during the residency term.

Eyebeam accepts applications via Submittable and there is no fee to apply. If you do not already have a Submittable account, you will need to create one in order to apply.
