Oil Standard screencast

Oil Standard is a web browser plug-in that converts all prices from U.S. Dollars into the equivalent value in barrels of crude oil. When you load a web page, the script seamlessly inserts converted prices into the page. As the cost of oil fluctuates on the commodities exchange, prices rise and fall in real-time.

inkscanner @ eyebeam Mixer

An installation in which people can scan their own body in 3D using a cheap pool, a webcam, some ink and some custom software.
Through submerging your body in ink-dyed water, a camera mounted directly above the pool can take photographs at different time stages that can be converted into silhouettes and then later stacked on top of each other for a 3 dimensional representation of your body.

thanks to Eyebeam center for Art and Technology for making this happen!

Real Costs screencast

Real Costs is a Firefox plug-in that inserts emissions data into travel related e-commerce websites. The first version adds CO2 emissions information to airfare websites such as Orbitz.com, United.com, Delta.com, etc. Following versions will work with car directions, car rental, and shipping websites. Think of it like the nutritional information labeling on the back of food... except for emissions.
