The way we were
Beirut in the 1960s
The way we were is a 4 minute clip looking at Lebanon in the days it used to be called the Paris of the Middle East. The movie highlights sites and landmarks that used to be the staple of the country dubbed as the gem between East and West, mostly locations that have been destroyed by the war, or replaced by high rise office buildings and luxury clothing stores. The clip was part of a commission by international artist and composer Guy Manoukian, and was edited with never before seen footage from 1961 by the Baim Film foundation.
