Lumarca

Lumarca is a truly volumetric display which allows viewers to see three dimensional images and motion. The system requires only a computer, a projector, and common materials found at most hardware stores. This provides an affordable platform for artists to design compelling content that conveys information, narrative, and aesthetic information in a new way. Lumarca is a collaboration between Albert Hwang and Matt Parker.

Main Space: Lumarca

Lumarca is a truly volumetric display which allows viewers to see three dimensional images and motion. The system requires only acomputer, a projector, and common materials found at most hardware stores. Its scale is limited only by the size of the projected image and your own ambition. This work, a collaboration between Albert Hwang and Eyebeam Resident Matt Parker, will be on display in the Eyebeam Main Space from January 12th - February 4th. For this particular installation, Parker and Hwang will be executing a 15' cubed Lumarca structure. Open Call: Art & Technology Internships

Eyebeam's Residents and Fellows are seeking interns offering a wide range of skill sets and interests to contribute to the production of technology-based artworks. Artist internships provide students with unique, hand-on learning opportunities. An Eyebeam Artist Intern could be a visual artist with an interest in gaining exposure to technology-based practices, or he/she could be a technoligist interested in discovering how to apply his or her skills creatively. Internships require a committment of 10 hours a week. Eyebeam does not offer payment for internships. However, college credit is granted to individuals who apply. Workshop: Processing in Eclipse with Proclipsing

Join Eyebeam Resident Matt Parker for a workshop in Proclipsing. Proclipsing allows you to easily create a Processing project in Eclipse and easily export it to an application or applet. Eclipse is a more advanced Java editor that allows you to do code completetion, refactoring, debugging, and tracking of changes. It's the most widely used Java editor and makes it much easier to create large applications, rather than simple sketches. Processing is a free, open source programming language & development environment that was created to teach the fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context with artist-users in mind. Proclipsing was created by Brian Ballantine, Daniel C. Howe, and Matt Parker.
