Five Elements is an inter-disciplinary, multi-media performance and exhibit that will weave together multiple performance and visual art practices fashioned on the five dance elements of voguing, a dynamic and expressive dance form popularized by the urban gay and lesbian community), original musical composition (contemporary interpretations of chamber music), and interactive and real time video manipulation and interpretative technologies. Five Elements will effectively redefine how performance art is chronicled beyond the traditional medium of video and photography, and in parallel work as a platform to help recognize transcend the marginalization of voguing as a legitimate art form.
