Play it Cool? Artists and creatives tackle climate change.
On Weds night, artists and creatives with a practice invested in tackling and addressing issues related to climate change gathered at Eyebeam for "Play it Cool?" The event was organized by Eyebeam Resident Marina Zurkow, and NYU faculty Una Chadhuri and Fritz Ertl; as an effort of our Sustainability Research Group. The evening started with a presentation slam, where participants were invited to share a glimpse into their current practice. Following the slam, Fritz led the group in an exercise were we considered the different projects from a different perspective - flora or fauna. In small groups, we then developed these translated ideas into creative response pieces. In the end, we walked away with new approaches and fresh perspectives on our work an others. We met others working on similar ideas, and saw the evening as a beginning.
