G.H. Hovagimyan is an experimental digital artist working in a variety of forms. He was one of the first artists in New York to start working with the Internet in the early nineties. His work ranges from hypertext works to digital performance art and installations. His streamed video talk shows, Art Dirt and Collider explore and document the artists of the digital art scene at the time circa 1995-2000.

After Thought

After Thought is a personality test where I interview people using flashcards and brainwave analysis to produce a custom “video mindprint”. From software-response analysis, I generate a unique 5-minute video containing symbolic imagery such as fireworks shooting into the night sky, rain beating against a window, a sleeping baby and many more. The end result is a looping video on a small LCD screen, housed in a small wooden box. People should watch their video when they drift away from their true selves to perform an emotional realignment.

HANDS-ON GET-UP are a collection of wearable structures designed specifically to inspire
pro-active creativity, expressive movement and unexpected consequences.  Whilst in
residence at Eyebeam, I have been creating two parallel projects that express this working
model.  Both schemes incorporate the themes of body, technology and performance, as well
as being inspired by my experiences here in New York City.

Artist talk with eteam

The eteam (Franziska Lamprecht and Hajoe Moderegger) for Upgrade! New York’s August event.

eteam will discuss the construction of alternate realities via audience participation (intentional or unintentional) within their various projects. In addition, a special guest and a performance/game will set the scene for vibrant dialogue.

Di Mainstone Showcases Sharewear at I-Machine, Germany

With the amiable assistance of a set of Dutch identical twins, resident artist Di Mainstone will be continuing her tour of SHAREWEAR in Germany this week.   Last seen at Eyebeam’s Mixer event, the dresses will be unpacked and assembled as part of a live performance at I-Machine Festival, to be held in Oldenburg 15th – 18th May.
