INTRO TO TWO STATEMENTS:

Re:Group: Beyond Models of Consensus proposes that with participation now a dominant paradigm, structuring social interaction, art, activism, the architecture of the city, the internet, and the economy, we are all integrated into participatory structures whether we want to be or not. The exhibition showcases work that subverts existing systems or envisions new alternatives to the ways in which individuals can take part, or choose not to take part, in social and cultural life.

The Internets is all buzzing with chatter against Facebook’s latest privacy breaches. Into this happy mix a bunch of NYU students have been cast as the Davids against the social networking Goliath. Is that really a good thing? Can we help?

Friends are there... or are they?

Diaspora is a new initiative by 4 NYU students to create a “privacy aware, personally controlled, do-it-all distributed open source social network” by the end of the summer. A worthy mission indeed with quite an ambitious time line.

Top Secret Greenpeace Project Video Part 2

In March of 2010 I caught wind of a project at Greenpeace that sounded incredible. Victoria Estok and I headed down a couple weeks later with a camera and a mic to talk to people about it. We then went to a farm, graciously made available by a Greenpeace supporter, to see more.
