Food and Emerging Media Speaker Series examines the role of emerging media and new technology on the exploration of the many facets of food.
The series is organized by Stefani Bardin in conjunction with her class, Food and Emerging Media, Department of Media Study, University at Buffalo, and is hosting artists, farmers, architects, curators and historians whose work and research focus on how technology has mediated our relationship to food.
I'll be speaking about "Food in the City", the recent research focus of Eyebeam's Sustainability Research Group, and presenting a range of our inspirations: artists who have been working on projects as diverse as urban farming, food mapping, and eating in an art context.
Food in the City is an initiative which will bring together media artists, cooks, environmentalists and food activists to embrace technological innovation and environmental, sustainable and regenerative concerns consistent with green and open source ventures and sustainability.
The talk is free and open to the public.
